REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT and NATIONAL SPORTS REPORT
To Provide One Hour of Primetime Sports News in April
Cleveland– Fox Sports Net Ohio announced today a series of programming schedule changes that are designed to take advantage of FSN’s unique regional and national structure, as well as its recent original programming initiative.
The major change occurs Monday, April 2 when its sports news shows, the critically-acclaimed Regional Sports Report and the National Sports Report, will air from 10:00-11:00 PM local time in a 60-minute news block (RSR-10-10:30; NSR-10:30-11). The announcement was made today by Steve Liverani, senior vice president and general manager, Fox Sports Net Ohio.
Regional Sports Report will change its name to Ohio Sports Report. Shifting the locally-focused program to immediately follow Fox Sports Net’s coverage of the Cavs, Blue Jackets, Reds and Indians, gives the show the best possible lead-in directly from Ohio’s hometown game. It also enhances the opportunity for a full regional show to air in its entirety. Beginning April 2, the Ohio Sports Report, which in its own unique way provides comprehensive sports news from a home-town perspective, is scheduled to air at 10:00 PM or immediately following the game.
“It’s been six months since the successful launch of our Regional Sports Report, and as the show continues to evolve we feel it’s time to make the move to primetime.” said Liverani. “Fox Sports Net Ohio produces over 265 events of our hometown NHL, NBA and MLB teams. We feel there is no better way to recap those games and the entire regional sports day than immediately following our primetime event at 10 PM.”
The early evening version of regional news also will undergo a time change with the show moving to 6:30 PM from its original 7 PM slot. With most professional teams now starting games at 7 PM, the early “Ohio Sports Tonight” show will continue to set the stage for the upcoming games and the night in sports.
On Sunday evening, The Keith Olbermann Evening News replaces the National Sports Report and runs for a full hour from 10:30-11:30 PM local time.
Fox Sports Net showcases it’s diverse and distinctive programming line-up by moving the regional news to 10 o’clock, debuting four exclusive NASCAR programs this week – NASCAR THIS MORNING, NASCAR VICTORY LANE, TOTALLY NASCAR AND NASCAR TECH – and recently launching original programming like BEYOND THE GLORY and PREPS.
Fox Sports Net Ohio is available to over four million households in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, western Pennsylvania, western New York, and West Virginia.
