Tom Halleen Joins AMC as Vice President, Programming and Scheduling

JERICHO, New York, February 18, 2003 – Tom Halleen has joined AMC as Vice President of Programming and Scheduling, it was announced today by Rob Sorcher, Senior Vice President, Programming and Production.

Reporting to Sorcher, Halleen will be responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of films, original specials, series, thematic festivals, tributes and stunts. He will also be instrumental in strategic long-term program planning for the network.

“Tom’s diversified experience and wide range of skills he acquired during his tenure at ABC Family, will play an integral part in the rebranding of AMC as we move forward to attract a younger audience,” says Sorcher. “This will enable AMC to continue to be creative, inventive and competitive in the industry.”

Prior to joining AMC, Halleen was Senior Vice President, Programming and Development at ABC Family. Working in various capacities since he joined the programming division in 1990, Halleen was most recently responsible for all primetime programming, including original movies, series and acquisitions. During his tenure at the channel, he was responsible for scheduling and supervision of hundreds of hours of programming including “State of Grace,” the award-winning and critically acclaimed series.

Halleen resides in Stony Brook with his wife, Michelle, and children Sam and Natalie.
