(CHICAGO) – Fox Sports Net – the television home of the Chicago Blackhawks – is the place to catch the very best in National Hockey League action with all 41, live, regular season Blackhawk road games, along with two pre-season telecasts during the 2003-04 season.
FSN viewers can get the first look at head coach Brian Sutter’s 2003-04 Blackhawks squad when they face the rival St. Louis Blues in a pre-season match-up on Saturday, September 27 at 7:30 PM live from Kansas City, MO. Fox Sports Net will also carry an additional pre-season game on Saturday, October 4 at 7:00 PM when the Blackhawks travel to face the Dallas Stars.
This year’s regular season campaign on Fox Sports Net starts off with the road opener on Friday, October 10 at 8:00 PM against Teemu Selanne, Paul Kariya and the Colorado Avalanche (NOTE: FSN will carry another Blackhawks-Colorado match-up on Mar. 23). Other key road match-ups this season include three big divisional battles against the Detroit Red Wings (Nov. 10, Dec. 19 & Jan. 14) and the St. Louis Blues (Nov. 1, Jan. 12 & Mar. 27). Plus, FSN will have road contests against the Stanley Cup champion New Jersey Devils (Mar. 11) and finals runner-up Anaheim (Oct. 26 & Nov. 28).
This season’s Blackhawks roster features veterans Eric Daze, Alex Zhamnov, Steve Sullivan, Jocelyn Thibault and rookie Tuomo Ruutu, who is touted as the top prospect in the world by many hockey experts and a variety of hockey publications. Ruutu was the Blackhawks’ 1st round selection (9th overall) in the 2001 NHL entry draft.
Chicago Blackhawks hockey on Fox Sports Net features the veteran announcing tandem of Pat Foley and Dale Tallon, who will work their 18th season together handling play-by-play and analysis. Blackhawks PRE, featuring the studio tandem of Jim Blaney and former Blackhawk star center Troy Murray, will air a half-hour prior to every game telecast on FSN. Blaney and Murray will also host period intermissions and Blackhawks POST, which will follow all FSN game telecasts.

More highlights from this season’s Blackhawks schedule on FSN include 12 “late start” games (various mountain and west coast start times beginning at 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM or 9:30 PM), three games against Western Conference champion Dallas (Oct. 4, Dec. 12 & Apr. 4), a pair of games against two of the NHL’s top goal scorers, Vancouver’s Markus Naslund and Todd Bertuzzi (Nov. 20 & Jan. 27), a Philadelphia Flyers match-up against former Blackhawks Jeremy Roenick and Tony Amonte (Feb. 24), along with a contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins, in what likely will be the final time the Blackhawks will face the legendary Mario Lemieux (Dec. 29).
Three regular season games are currently scheduled to be telecast on Fox Sports Net Plus (see attached schedule). Fox Sports Net Plus (FSN+) telecasts are provided to Fox Sports Net affiliates and distributed to viewers when two live events are scheduled simultaneously. Through a cooperative agreement with CLTV, inner market cable operators are given the opportunity to place FSN+ games on CLTV. Cable operators who do not carry CLTV will place FSN+ telecasts on a to-be-determined channel.
