FOX SPORTS NET ACROSS AMERICA
FSN’s sports magazine show comprised of the best local stories with national appeal, produced by FSN’s regional sports networks, continues on Sunday with an all-new episode. The 30-minute show highlights players, coaches, events and the biggest news from the world of sports. Carolyn Hughes hosts the show and each week noted Chicago Sun-Times columnist Rick Telander offers commentary on the most pressing issues in the sports world in a segment titled: “An audible?from Rick Telander.” FSNAA airs at a special time this week at 11:00 PM local.

Daryl Stingley was paralyzed back in 1978 while playing for the New England Patriots and remains in a wheelchair today. Yet his injuries did not prevent his son, Derek, from wanting to play pro football. Derek is now a member of the Chicago Desperados of the Arena Football League. But the road to the football field wasn’t easy for Derek. He started out playing baseball, but on Father’s Day of 1996, Derek told his Dad about his real love, playing football. And now his dad is one of his biggest supporters.

Angels’ shortstop David Eckstein is one of the grittiest players in baseball, one who leaves everything out on the field. What you may not know is that four family members have had kidney transplants, including most recently, his father. Eckstein talks about having to play everyday, while questioning your family’s health.

Steve Kerr began his career as a fringe scholarship player in Lute Olson’s first year at Arizona back in 1983, but by the end of his run he was the point guard on the Wildcats first Final Four entry. From there, he won five NBA championships with two teams. Kerr achieved all this after his father, Malcolm, had been assassinated in Beirut, Lebanon. His dad was the president of American University of Beirut. Steve Kerr’s experiences came full circle as he delivered the commencement address to Arizona’s most recent graduating class, in honor of his father.

The $10,000 buy-in tournament is shown in eight one-hour episodes, with the first airing at 6:00 PM local on Sun., June 20. FSN offers viewers unique angles with its 20 cameras and sound never heard before on any poker show, as every player and the dealer at the final table will wear a microphone.

I, MAX
FSN’s newest daily talk show, I, MAX, continues with the brash and opinionated Max Kellerman, alongside co-hosts Bill Wolff and Michael Holley. The unique format of the show pairs Kellerman against the world, represented by Holley and a special guest each day. Kellerman takes on the news of the day with his analysis and then gives “the world” a chance to respond. Each topic is judged and is tallied throughout the show. I, MAX is the first FSN program to completely originate from New York City. The 30-minute telecast airs at 6:00 PM local.

Kellerman Quotes:

  • On Roger Clemens: “This could be the year, indeed, when Clemens cements his position as the greatest pitcher of all time.”
