WE: Women's Entertainment Presents Second Annual 'She House'
.
JERICHO, NY, June 30, 2004 – WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT unveiled plans today for the SHE HOUSE sweepstakes, the second annual marketing initiative which awards one lucky winner a dream home, ultimately designed with a woman's needs in mind. The SHE HOUSE campaign incorporates sponsorships, a national sweepstakes and affiliate promotion designed to drive cable-powered high-speed internet sales. The SHE HOUSE is located on the North Shore of Long Island, in the heart of the Wine Region. Beginning July 10, WE viewers can visit www.we.tv to enter the national sweepstakes to win the home.
The SHE HOUSE will serve as a backdrop for production during the design implementation and in September, the 2,300 square foot home, complete with appliances, furnishings, and accessories, will be awarded to the winner.
Sponsors participating in the initiative are Sherwin-Williams Paint Stores, BISSELL Homecare, Inc, Hebrew National and Re/Max. They will each receive product placement, tagged promotional spots and on-air billboards. "In the $200 billion home improvement category, women make 80 percent of the project decisions," noted Arlene Manos, President, Advertising Sales, WE. "We are gratified by the caliber of advertisers this promotion has attracted."
Several cable affiliates have signed on to participate in the SHE HOUSE promotion including Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox, Charter, Adelphia and Cablevision. WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT will provide these systems with a customized cross-channel sweepstakes spot promoting cable-powered high-speed internet service to women. Direct mail, radio advertising and ad slicks for print will also be provided. In addition, WE will provide co-branded micro-sites, where affiliates can drive their customers to enter a local "Room Of Your Own" sweepstakes.
"The SHE HOUSE campaign is a unique opportunity for our affiliates since it can support and help sell one of their most important revenue-generating units, high-speed cable modem service," commented Kim Martin, Executive Vice President, Sales and Affiliate Marketing at WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT. "We demonstrate how high-speed modems can help simplify their lives when it comes to home how-to and design. It's important to convey the message to the customer in a clear, user-friendly fashion."
During a twelve-week period beginning July 10, WE will telecast "She House Cinema" every Saturday. The block will package a popular movie with SHE HOUSE programming. In segment breaks during the film, dueling SHE HOUSE designers will present individual plans for 11 specific areas of the house to women on the street. The winning design will be announced in the following week's installment, and implemented by the losing designer. At the end of the promotion, the designer who wins the most rooms in the house wins $10,000.
The network's website, www.we.tv, will be an integral part of the promotion, presenting custom content including interactive design planning tools; how-to lists and tips for home improvement and d?cor; IPIX/360-degree layouts; and discussion and resource boards. Links will be provided to the sites of the SHE HOUSE sponsors.
