Day Two News:
AMC will present 17 of the most popular 007 movies in August with The Complete Bond: 1962-1989. Featuring international intrigue, steamy locations and sizzling Bond girls, this month-long marathon begins with Dr. No (the film that launched the series), on August 8, and continues in order through 1989’s License To Kill, on August 30.
Spanning three decades of Bond films, AMC will air the full-screen versions of each movie at 8 PM ET/PT, followed by the cable television premiere of the restored, unedited, letterbox versions at 10 PM ET/PT.
Fuse today announced that it will provide Cox with its signature VOD services. Fuse On Demand, the network’s video-on-demand (VOD) service, is the first on-demand music program service for digital cable subscribers featuring hit music videos, and ratings-proven programming. Viewers can watch up to 75 full-length videos from the industry’s top recording artists in addition to artist interviews, concert footage, and What’s New on Fuse. Just like all of Fuse’s content, Fuse On Demand’s bi-weekly updates are generated from viewer input. Most recently, Fuse has enhanced the service with exclusive VOD programming that allows systems to custom tailor on demand content for local markets, as well as breakthrough interactive gaming features.
To complement the premiere of its first-ever original scripted programming on August 19, IFC will make each of its new series — HOPELESs Pictures, Greg the Bunny and The Festival — available to independent film lovers everywhere by premiering each episode online at www.ifc.com on August 12, the week before its on-air debut.
HOPELESs Pictures, IFC’s new animated comedy series, centers on a dysfunctional Hollywood indie dream factory. Studio head Mel Wax struggles to reign in out-of-control pill-popping Swedish directors and assorted egomaniacal stars and starlets, while coping with a vengeful soon-to-be ex-wife, assorted affairs, his idiot nephew/head of production, and a hostile takeover by IFC. Cast includes Michael McKean, Martin Mull, Jennifer Coolidge, John Michael Higgins, Bob Balaban, Jonathan Katz, Lisa Kudrow, Isaac Mizrahi, and others.
In Greg the Bunny, a comical series of puppet parodies, the cancellation of the main characters’ Fox sitcom is now just a painful memory. More current concerns are overdue rent and funding Warren the Ape’s drinking habit. So they’ve returned to where it all began: making film parodies for IFC.
The Festival is a satirical comedy, told from the perspective of fictitious IFC documentarian, Cookie. Cookie’s subject, Rufus Marquez, is a quixotic young director embarking on his virgin voyage to the prestigious Mountain United Film Festival (MUFF.)
