“Weapons of Mass Instruction” Public Service Announcement Airs
Throughout December in Support of World Aids Day on December 1
New York, NY, November 28, 2005 – Rainbow Media Holdings LLC announced today their support of Cable Positive’s Join the Fight, an HIV/AIDS Awareness and Prevention Public Service Campaign. Beginning on November 28 and running throughout the month of December, the PSA “Weapons of Mass Instruction” will feature messages from such distinguished celebrities as Actors Billy Crudup and Matthew Broderick, NBA star Allan Houston, Actress Rosario Dawson and Comedian/Actor Jimmy Fallon. “Weapons of Mass Instruction” will air across all the Rainbow Media networks including AMC, IFC, WE, fuse, Rainbow Sports and also exclusively proceeding film trailers at the IFC Center.
Cable Positive joins forces with hundreds of community-based AIDS service organizations across the United States as part of this nationwide initiative to support World AIDS Day to promote HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. Cable Positive is supplying cable network and system partners, free of charge, with “Weapons of Mass Instruction” PSA’s. Launched in support of World AIDS Day, December 1, the successful campaign’s website (cablepositive.org/join the fight) has received more than 2 million hits.
