New York, NY, April 26, 2005 – IFC Films elevates Mark Boxer to Vice President of Sales and Distribution it was announced today by IFC Entertainment President Jonathan Sehring. Boxer will report directly to Sehring.
“Mark’s distribution acumen has been key to our recent successes with films like Touching The Void and The Ballad of Jack and Rose,” commented Sehring. “We look forward to working with him on our expanding slate of releases.”
Boxer will create and implement release strategies and oversee sales and distribution for all IFC theatrical releases including Aric Avelinos American Gun, Michael Showalters The Baxter and Miranda July’s Me And You And Everyone We Know. Additionally, the executive will oversee home video and the non-theatrical markets for all IFC releases.
Boxer joined the company in 2003 as Director of National Sales and oversaw the theatrical releases for such IFC films as Touching the Void, The Saddest Music in the World, Camp and Metallica. Prior to IFC, the executive was the Eastern and Central District Sales Manager for Artisan Entertainment where he supervised the release campaigns of films such as The Blair Witch Project, Buena Vista Social Club, and Veggie Tales. Prior to that Boxer served in distribution for Sony Pictures and Savoy Pictures.
