The Henry Rollins Show

Following critical acclaim as IFC's outspoken host on Henry's Film Corner,
a weekly series THE HENRY ROLLINS SHOW
premieres April 1 at 10:00pm ET for a 20-week run.

The new format incorporates an eclectic selection of musical acts, a wider range of celebrity guests and new, original field segments. Henry Rollins, the articulate and opinionated former lead singer of "Black Flag," front man of the "Rollins Band," actor, author and spoken word artist, will continue to give us his unique take on the current state of pop culture, politics and everything entertainment, for better or worse. THE HENRY ROLLINS SHOW takes an uncensored approach to talk show programming with an independent voice that strikes a brilliant balance of humor, angst, art and intellect.

CELEBRITY GUESTS

During each 30-minute episode, the outspoken Rollins offers topical, subversive, no-holds-barred debates in IFC's uncut, uncensored environment. Previous visitors to the Film Corner couch have included Philip Seymour Hoffman, Billy Bob Thornton, Penelope Cruz, Crispin Glover, Rob Zombie and Don Cheadle. A wider range of guests on THE HENRY ROLLINS SHOW will include personalities from film, television, music, comedy and politics.

MUSIC PERFORMANCES

Each episode of THE HENRY ROLLINS SHOW features a performance from some of the most respected and cutting-edge artists in music today, including Sleater Kinney, John Doe from X, Frank Black, Jurassic 5, Dashboard Confessional, Ben Folds and Death Cab for Cutie. IFC offers artists the rare opportunity to perform their music completely uncensored, in its intended form. Performances are 'live in studio' and filmed exclusively for IFC at The Bombshelter, a state-of-the-art recording studio in Los Angeles, owned by Eric Kretz of Stone Temple Pilots. These performances offer viewers a unique look at their favorite musicians.

TEEING OFF

"Teeing Off" offers a unique and irreverent take on the traditional monologue, as Rollins rants on everything from pop culture to politics to the guy who annoyed him at the grocery store.

ROLLINS REVENGE/ROLLINS REJOICE

This unapologetic diatribe celebrates or desecrates a movie, person, book, record, government act, publicity stunt or pop culture event with a vigor that sets Henry far apart from traditional critics. So watch out – you could be next!

HENRY'S PICKS

Far too often, you find yourself watching a mediocre film, reading a boring book, or buying a forgettable CD. But there are also some really great picks out there, sometimes off the mainstream radar. Rollins offers personal suggestions that he thinks viewers should investigate.

Rollins relays: "Last season, we nailed some really interesting, direct, honest interviews with our guests — refreshingly different from the traditional show-biz ordeal. The entertainment industry too often underestimates the intelligence of the audience and their desire to see something risky, something that challenges them. In season two, we're going to step it up a notch further."

HENRY ROLLINS: UNCUT FROM NYC

IFC will also broadcast a performance from Henry Rollins' two month, 48-date Spoken Word Tour '25 Years of Bullshit'. This broadcast, Henry Rollins: Uncut from NYC, taped at the Town Hall in New York, will feature Rollins' most engaging, enraging and humorous commentary on politics, pop culture, and his favorite exploits from 25 years on the road. Premiere date: March 25 at 10pm ET.

"Since my last tour, I have done extensive travel to Iraq, Kuwait, Siberia, South Korea and other places and picked up some interesting stories," notes Rollins. "We are living in interesting times and, as bad as things are, I draw considerable inspiration from the things I'm seeing and the people I'm meeting."

South by Southwest Film Festival

Henry Rollins joins journalist Andy Langer for one-on-one discussion at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, TX on March 12. Langer and Rollins will discuss the current state of the media, pop culture, politics, education, and the ties that bind them.
