Network's Public Affairs Initiative WE Empowers Women Encourages Women to Achieve Their Goals and Live a Healthy Lifestyle
New York, NY, September 27, 2006 – WE tv announced today that it will serve as a National Media Sponsor for the Women's Sports Foundation, a national charitable organization seeking to advance the lives of girls and women through sports and physical activity. The partnership will be a focal point to the network's public affairs initiative, WE Empowers Women. As part of the new partnership, WE Empowers Women will host several in-market events throughout the United States, bringing professional female athletes to create awareness of the cause and educate young girls on the benefits of physical activity. At each event the attending female professional athlete will speak about the importance of being physically active and lead a sports clinic of her specialty for attendees.
