New York, NY – October 2, 2006 – Furthering the company's commitment to expanding the scope of its operations in key growth areas, IFC Entertainment has hired industry veteran Arianna Bocco to serve as the company's Vice President of Acquisitions and Production. The announcement was made today by IFC Entertainment President Jonathan Sehring, to whom Bocco will directly report.
In her newly appointed role, Bocco is charged with identifying and pursuing finished feature films that support the company's overall motion picture acquisition strategy of aggressively growing its theatrical release slate with larger, commercial films as well as bringing to the company promising new projects that contribute to a diverse new production slate. Bocco will also spearhead the acquisition of twenty-four films a year for the IFC First Take banner, IFC Entertainment's day-and-date division.
Upon making the announcement Sehring commented, "Arianna is an excellent assessor of quality film with a very impressive background. She will be instrumental in continuing the company's success as we will look to her to spearhead the company's acquisitions and production initiatives going forward. Like the rest of our team, she is talented, experienced and very committed to her work. Her knowledge of the both the commercial and independent landscapes will be invaluable as she manages the company's acquisition activity."

Bocco has many years of acquisitions, production and development experience having held a variety of high-level posts throughout her career. She most recently served as Head of the independent feature packaging division of the Gersh Agency in New York City.
Prior to the Gersh Agency, Bocco worked at Miramax Films as a Senior Vice-President of Acquisitions. While at Miramax, Bocco was involved in acquiring such notable films such as GARDEN STATE directed by Zach Braff and THE STATION AGENT directed by Tom McCarthy. Before joining Miramax, Bocco held various roles in acquisitions for New Line Cinema and Fine Line Features and worked at The Steve Tisch Company.
