18 Home and Three Road Telecasts on Tap for Adelphia Cable Subscribers on Channel 779
Burlington, MA – Live sports programming has fast become the most watched high definition (HD) content on TV, and hoop fans in Adelphia Cable systems can now watch the world’s best basketball players in revolutionary HD. Beginning with the Boston Celtics-New Orleans Hornets match-up from the TD Banknorth Garden on Monday, January 23, FSN New England will bring 21 of the remaining 39 Boston Celtics telecasts in HD to Adelphia Cable system customers on channel 779.
HDTV is a new standard of television featuring a highly detailed picture quality with images up to six times sharper than analog television; a wide-screen picture with a width: height ratio of 16:9, identical to that of most cinema; more than two million pixels per picture and CD-quality surround sound.
“The Celtics are an exciting, young team who take virtually every game down to the buzzer and high definition is the best way to see the on-court action. Adelphia is a great partner with FSN New England and their subscribers will immediately experience a stunning increase in picture quality,” said FSN New England Senior VP and General Manager David Woodman. “High Definition is the only way to catch the next generation of Boston Celtics.”
“The addition of the Celtics in HD demonstrates our continued commitment to expanding the Adelphia high definition channel line-up, said Mark Adamy, VP of Marketing and Sales for Adelphia’s Northeast Region. “Unlike satellite-delivered home entertainment systems, Adelphia customers with a HDTV can now see all the Celtics, Bruins, New England Patriots and Red Sox games produced in HD technology on Adelphia. Sports fans now have the ultimate sports viewing experience from their home with Adelphia in HD.”
FSN New England’s remaining schedule includes 18 home and 3 road HD telecasts. The full Boston Celtics schedule is attached at the end of this release.
