New On Demand Episodes Get Inside The Practices, The Playbooks and The Mind of UCONN's Hall of Fame Coach
New York, NY, March 14, 2007 – SPORTSKOOL, the first and only free On Demand television network dedicated to in-depth sports instruction and coaching, will further expand its content offerings with the new original series, Inside Coaching, premiering on March 20. The new series takes viewers behind the play-calls with Jim Calhoun one of the nation's most recognized collegiate basketball coaches. Launched in 2004 by Rainbow Media, SPORTSKOOL has seen substantial growth, now at over 23 million in total distribution, thanks in large part to an increasing slate of original sports instruction featuring world renowned athletes including soccer superstar Mia Hamm, Olympic skier Bode Miller, baseball legend Tony Gwynn, basketball Hall of Famer and NBA analyst Bill Walton, Stanley Cup champion Peter Forsberg, and skateboarding pioneer Mike Vallely.
"Inside Coaching is designed to give viewers all-out access into one of the NCAA's most dominant programs," states Dan Ronayne, General Manager of SPORTSKOOL. "SPORTSKOOL is a distinctive brand that offers viewers original programming that is informative and entertaining. This series offers a unique opportunity to see the true inside point-of-view on what makes good players great and emerging teams champions. Nowhere else on television can you get this kind of programming that is custom-built for the on demand platform, and we look forward to offering this exciting new addition."
Inside Coaching gets inside the action with video coverage of Coach Calhoun doing what he does best, positioning players to win. Calhoun and his coaching staff take us through practice as we see, hear and experience the game through their eyes. The series also provides an insider's 411 on the play-calling strategies, motivational methods and team oriented philosophies that have placed Calhoun among the most prestigious and successful coaches in college sports. With three different cameras shooting the team's practice coupled with official NCAA game footage, Inside Coaching is the first sports show to infiltrate the minds of the league's elite.
Jim Calhoun's coaching success story includes winning two NCAA National Championships (1999, 2004) at Connecticut, passing the 700-win plateau, and earning basketball's highest honor, election into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2005.
In addition to Jim Calhoun, Inside Coaching episodes will expand over time to include other great coaches in college sports today.
