New York, NY, June 17, 2009 – Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, the programming subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corp., has appointed Thomas Ziangas as Senior Vice President of Research, effective immediately. Mr. Ziangas will oversee all of Rainbow Media’s research efforts, including programming and ad sales research for Rainbow’s national entertainment networks, AMC, WE tv, IFC and Sundance Channel. He will report to Michael DiPasquale, Executive Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Ziangas joins Rainbow from Nielsen Media Research, where he worked for more than 19 years. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President, Nielsen Expanded Media Services which provide research and measurement tools that help clients assess the value of their brands and sponsorships by tracking TV viewership, advertiser spending, consumer behavior and attitudes, and consumer loyalty/product purchasing.

Mr. Ziangas began his career in 1986 working in the Nielsen Homevideo Index (NHI) research department servicing cable network accounts such as ESPN, Lifetime and MTV networks. In 1993, he left NHI and joined the Ad-Sales Research department at the Family Channel in New York, where he worked with agencies and their advertisers and was responsible for all ratings estimates for the network. Prior to returning to Nielsen 1997, he was the Manager of Sales Development Resources at the Family Channel. Tom has spearheaded key initiatives as NHI’s CONCAM lead, ranging from C3 implementation for National Cable networks to HD measurement and reporting for cable networks.
Mr. Ziangas holds a B.S. in Marketing from St. John’s University.
