FORMER HEAD OF MGM WORLDWIDE NETWORKS, TUCHMAN WILL OVERSEE AMC/SUNDANCE CHANNEL GLOBAL
New York, NY – November 14, 2011 – AMC Networks Inc., (Nasdaq: AMCX) announced today that Bruce Tuchman is joining the company as President, AMC/Sundance Channel Global, the company’s international division. Tuchman joins AMC Networks from MGM Worldwide Networks, where he served as President since 2001.
In his new role, Tuchman will lead the strategic expansion of the company’s global business, including the distribution, programming and marketing of Sundance Channel, currently distributed in Europe, Canada and Asia, and WE tv, currently distributed in Asia. Based in New York City, Tuchman will report to AMC Networks COO Ed Carroll.

In 2001, Tuchman joined MGM Worldwide Networks, a division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc. to develop and manage MGM’s interests in cable, satellite and other television networks, which reach tens of millions of subscribers across more than 130 countries. Under his leadership, the division experienced explosive growth, with the countries and territories reached by The MGM Channel increasing five-fold. During his tenure, MGM launched channels for the first time across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, while the division continued to grow its existing channel businesses across Latin America and Asia. Mr. Tuchman also supervised MGM’s interests in pay movie channel joint ventures amongst MGM and several other major motion picture studios.
Mr. Tuchman came to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from MTV Networks, where he served as General Manager of Nickelodeon Global Network Ventures and Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon New Media Ventures. As General Manager of Nickelodeon Global Network Ventures, he developed and oversaw branded Nickelodeon channels across Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and Africa. Before joining Nickelodeon, Mr. Tuchman served as Vice President, Business Affairs and Senior Counsel, International Development for MTV Networks. From 1989-1994, he was an M&A attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York and London.
Mr. Tuchman graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a B.A. in International Relations. He earned a law degree from the University of Michigan, where he served as managing editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law. Mr. Tuchman also has a Master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
Mr. Tuchman is Chairman of the London School of Economics Centennial Fund, an arm of the LSE which oversees fundraising and promoting the school in North America. He is also on the National Council for the University of Michigan Musical Society, which manages the presentation of concert, theatrical and other arts performances at the University of Michigan.
Mr. Tuchman lives in Scarsdale NY with his wife, Pamela, and their two daughters.
