New York, NY—December 6, 2011 – IFC announced today the appointment of Andrew Siegal to the newly created position of vice president, production. Based in New York City, Siegal will report to Debbie DeMontreux, senior vice president, original programming.
“Andrew is a highly experienced television producer with an impressive background of effectively managing the production operations of high-quality original programming, specifically within the comedy space,” said DeMontreux. “His legal and financial expertise coupled with his strong production relationships will be a huge asset to IFC as we continue to establish the network as a destination for alt comedy series.”
In this new role, Siegal will be responsible for developing and implementing production management strategies and oversight of day-to-day production operations for IFC’s original programming.
Siegal has extensive experience developing and producing long and short-form programming for top cable networks and entertainment brands. His recent credits include producer positions on Comedy Central’s newest hit show, “Jon Benjamin Has a Van,” HBO’s “Funny or Die: Presents” and MTV’s “World of Jenks” (season 2). His previously held positions include director of production for MTV2, supervising producer of Comedy Central’s "Insomniac with Dave Attell," line producer of "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn," and co-producer of MTV’s "Tom Green Show." He started his career working at "Saturday Night Live" and "The Jon Stewart Show." Siegal is a graduate of Towson State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics.
