NEW YORK, NY, May 9, 2011, Marnie Black has been named Senior Vice President of public relations for AMC, it was announced today by Ellen Kroner, Executive Vice President of communications for Rainbow Media, to whom Black will report.
In her new role, Black will be the key consumer press strategist for AMC and will work closely, day-to-day, with AMC President and GM Charlie Collier. She will be responsible for all consumer communications, including program publicity, talent relations, awards campaigns and special events. Prior to joining AMC, Black ran her own communications firm with a client list including CNN, Comcast, Readers Digest, Interactive Advertising Bureau and NFL Network, among others.

She is a seasoned communications strategist with a strong track-record of raising the bar on creative and high-impact media relations campaigns," said Kroner. "Marnie brings a wealth of expertise to the position, having created many award-winning and culturally-defining media campaigns for a number of Fortune 500 companies."
Before forming her own PR agency, Black served as the Senior Vice President of communications for MTV, where she was the key strategist for MTV and its 15 businesses. During her tenure, she oversaw many groundbreaking PR campaigns for series including Total Request Life (TRL), Real World, Jackass, Newlyweds, The Hills, Run’s House and The Osbournes. Black also worked at Dan Klores Associates where she represented a diverse range of clients across multiple industry sectors including: MTV, Benetton, HBO/US Comedy Arts Festival, Universal Studios Florida, and Children’s Television Workshop. She began her career at Shandwick Public Relations/Dorf & Stanton.
Black graduated from Barnard College at Columbia University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She
is a former professional opera singer and she currently resides in New York City.
