AMC Networks Announces Legal Department Promotions

Meg Bogdan Named Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs

Aileen Brophy Named Vice President, Legal, Affiliate Sales

Madhu Goel Southworth Named Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs

New York, NY – February, 16, 2012 – AMC Networks announced today three promotions in the company’s legal department. Meg Bogdan has been named Vice President, legal & business affairs. Aileen Brophy has been named Vice President, legal, affiliate sales. Madhu Goel Southworth has been named Vice President, legal and business affairs.

Bogdan will continue to provide legal and business affairs support for all of Sundance Channel’s departments, including development, production, acquisition, research, marketing and PR. Brophy continues to be responsible for legal aspects surrounding national distribution for AMC Networks including negotiation and drafting of affiliation agreements for the licensing and distribution of content across multiple platforms. Goel Southworth continues to provide legal and business affairs support across AMC ranging from scripted and unscripted production work, film licensing, litigation, marketing, advertising, digital, PR, and ad sales.

Bogdan continues to report to Laura Sher, Senior Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs. Brophy continues to report to Jamie Gallagher, EVP and General Counsel for AMC Networks Inc. Goel Southworth continues to report to Sharon Davis, Senior Vice President of legal and business affairs. They are each based in the company’s New York City office.

Bogdan joined AMC Networks in 2010. Previously, she was vice president and associate general counsel at Court TV where she structured, negotiated and created agreements for the development, production and licensing of Court TV programming. Prior to Court TV, Bogdan served as director of Business and Legal Affairs at Showtime Networks.

Brophy joined AMC Networks in 2009. Previously, she was an associate in the New York office of Greenberg Traurig LLP, advising a number of television programmers and broadcasters on distribution issues.

Goel Southworth joined AMC Networks legal dept in 2009.” Prior to joining AMC, Goel Southworth worked at AETN where she handled legal and business affairs for The History Channel, The Biography Channel, A&E Indie Films, and A&E. She worked as an associate at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood, LLP and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, PC.
