NEW YORK, NY – November 28, 2012 – IFC’s premiere of R. Kelly’s cultural phenomenon Trapped in the Closet drew in a combined audience of more than 1.5 million total viewers and 899,000 A18-49 on Friday, November 23. The night consisted of the digitally remastered previous chapters plus all-new chapters. The new chapters of Trapped in the Closet debuted from 9-10 pm ET/PT and pulled in 780,000 total viewers.
In social media, among all broadcast and cable networks, IFC ranked #2 for the day; Trapped in the Closet ranked #2 among all TV programs for the day and #7 among all TV series for the entire week (Nov. 19-25).
Created, written by and starring R. Kelly as multiple cast members, Trapped in the Closet continues its ongoing saga with the return of Sylvester, Rufus, Cathy, Tina, Roxanne, Randolph, Rosie the Nosy Neighbor, Reverend Moseley, Twan and Pimp Lucius — a cast of characters interconnected by sexual exploits, quarreling lovers and a mysterious package.
