New York, NY – July 18, 2013 –The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced this morning the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy®Award nominations, recognizing AMC Networks with 39 nominations for AMC, IFC and Sundance Channel, the most in the company’s history and the most for any basic cable programming group.
AMC was recognized with 26 awards for “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad,” and “The Walking Dead,” “Breaking Bad” collected 13 nominations, the most in the series history, and “Mad Men” garnered 12 nominations, making it the most nominated basic cable drama of all time. In addition, amctv.com garnered a nomination in the interactive program category for “The Walking Dead” Story Sync.
Sundance Channel garnered 10 Emmy nominations, for "Top of the Lake" and "Restless," the most in the network’s history. IFC received two nominations for its hit series, "Portlandia," for writing and directing.
AMC Networks President and CEO Josh Sapan said, "It’s a great day for television.
