Network Continues To Grow In Challenging Competitive Environment On Strength Of Its Popular New And Returning Unscripted Shows
JANUARY 11, 2016 – In prime time ratings for 2015, WE tv continued to grow in a challenging competitive environment, posting the network’s “best year ever” for the fourth consecutive year in adults 25-54 and women 25-54 and third year in a row among total viewers. The network’s expanding slate of unscripted shows like Braxton Family Values, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, Tamar & Vince, Mary Mary, Kendra on Top, L.A. Hair, David Tutera’s CELEBrations and others continued to drive record viewership. WE tv premiered two new shows last week, Growing Up Hip Hop and Ex Isle.
“For a cable network to have its ‘best year ever’ at any time is an accomplishment, but to put together a string of ‘best years’ in a row in an environment as challenging and competitive as this is truly remarkable,” said Marc Juris, WE tv president. “Thanks to everyone at WE tv who continues to work so hard to produce these results, thanks to our creators, producers and stars, and thanks most of all to the viewers who continue to embrace our shows.”
In live/same day prime ratings for 2015, when many cable networks saw significant declines in viewership, WE tv grew 9 percent in total viewers over 2014, while adults 25-54 grew 5 percent and women 25-54 grew 1 percent. This follows gains of 37 percent in total viewers, 17 percent in adults 25-54 and 11 percent in women 25-54 in 2014 over 2013, and gains of 18 percent, 11 percent and 9 percent in those same respective categories in 2013 over 2012.
In live+3 prime ratings, WE tv also achieved its fourth consecutive “best year ever” in total viewers (up 9 percent from 2014), adults 25-54 (6 percent) and women 25-54 (4 percent).
The network averaged 479,000 prime time viewers in live/same day ratings, up from 439,000 in 2014. In live+3 ratings, WE tv averaged 518,000 viewers in prime, up from 475,000 last year.
