Special Airing of the Series Premiere Set to Scare the LOL out of Viewers Halloween Night Across All Linear and Digital Platforms
NEW YORK – October 28, 2016 – IFC announced today that it will unleash the premiere episode of Stan Against Evil on Halloween across its linear and digital platforms, allowing viewers to get an early preview of the new horror-comedy series. Starting Monday, October 31, the premiere of Stan Against Evil will be available to stream on VOD, at IFC.com and on IFC’s mobile and Apple TV apps. Additionally, AMC, the home of FearFest, will also stream the premiere episode on AMC.com and their digital apps. On air, IFC will present a special double airing of the premiere beginning at 11PM on Halloween night.
Stan Against Evil stars John C. McGinley (Scrubs) and Janet Varney (You’re The Worst), and follows Stan Miller (McGinley), a perpetually disgruntled former sheriff of a small New England town who was forced into retirement. Stan has trouble relinquishing his authority to Evie Barret (Varney), his tough and beautiful replacement, but they form an unlikely alliance when both begin to realize things are not quite right in their quaint New England town. Together, they valiantly fight a plague of unleashed demons that have been haunting the town, which just happens to be built on the site of a massive 17th century witch burning.
Stan Against Evil officially premieres with two back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, November 2 at 10PM and 10:30PM on IFC. The series will air the remainder of its 8-episode first season with two back-to-back episodes every Wednesday at 10PM and 10:30PM throughout November. Each week, episodes will be available on IFC and AMC digital platforms the day after they premiere on-air.
Stan Against Evil is created, written and executive produced by Dana Gould (The Simpsons, Parks and Recreation), with Tom Lassally (Silicon Valley) also serving as executive producer. Radical Media (What Happened, Miss Simone?, MARS) produces the series with Frank Scherma and Justin Wilkes executive producing. In addition to his lead role as Stan, John C. McGinley also serves as a producer. Deborah Baker Jr. and Nate Mooney co-star.
