Significant New Deals Announced With Key Pay-TV Operators in Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Iberia and Africa
New York – 16 February 2017 – AMC Networks International (AMCNI) is significantly boosting its regional growth in key markets with channel launches and new distribution deals across its brand portfolio. Networks including AMC, which has created some of the most successful television series of the last decade, are launching on key pay-TV operators in Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Iberia and Africa to serve audiences with award-winning programming across multiple genres.

AMC Networks International – Latin America has partnered with Sky México, the country’s leading DTH television provider to launch AMC as part of the VeTV package. The channel is available as a 24-hour linear service. AMCNI has also partnered with the leading DTH platform Claro to launch the channels AMC and El Gourmet in Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Paraguay.
In Central Europe, AMCNI has partnered with Slovak Telekom / DIGI Slovakia, the country’s largest cable provider, and AMC is now available as a 24/7 linear channel nationally. This follows the recently announced launches of three new local AMC feeds in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Romania and Slovenia as well as a new partnership with the United Group to launch AMC in the Balkan region on both cable and DTH platforms.
In Iberia, the Crime + Investigation channel is now available on the Euskaltel platform in Spain’s Basque Country as part of the joint venture between AMCNI Iberia and A+E Networks International. The partnership also launched a special feed in Portugal for the A&E channel. This follows the recent announcement that AMCNI Iberia has partnered with cable and DTH platform MEO in Portugal to launch Machinima, the first SVOD channel dedicated to gaming, eSports and animation. It also follows recent news of the launch of horror channel Dark on Movistar+, Spain’s largest IPTV and DTH television provider.
AMC Networks International – UK has also seen a number of significant launches throughout its territories. AMC has bolstered distribution in Poland as part of a new partnership with DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat, the largest pay-TV provider in the country and one of the leading satellite platforms in Europe. The channel carries advertising with sales managed by Polsat Media from Cyfrowy Polsat Group. In addition, the Multimedia cable platform, one of the top five providers in Poland, just launched CBS Action as a 24-hour linear service. This follows the recently announced news that AMCNI – UK has signed a long-term agreement with Econet Media to broadcast AMC through Econet’s new pan-African satellite broadcast network Kwesé TV. Other brands in the portfolio, including CBS Reality, JimJam and Odisseia, are included in the partnership.
