New York, NY – July 2, 2024 – We TV, AMC Networks’ destination for compelling unscripted television, today announced a new, star-studded series: Wiggin’ Out with Tokyo Stylez, which will premiere this August. The 8-episode, 30-minute docuseries takes an unfiltered look into the world of celebrity hairstylist, entrepreneur and overall baddie, Tokyo Stylez.
The famed hairstylist to the stars has carved out a prominent place for herself in the entertainment industry, earning the title of the go-to wig stylist in Hollywood. Leaving Nebraska at the age of 17 and making her move to LA from humble beginnings to becoming an A-list wig stylist, Tokyo Stylez remains focused on her career while balancing the uncertainties of her personal life.
Wiggin’ Out With Tokyo Stylez follows Tokyo as she takes center stage, shaping hair dreams into reality one strand at a time. This series gives viewers an inside look as Tokyo meets with, curates and installs wigs for high-profile clientele such as Cardi B, Trina Braxton, Reginae Carter, TS Madison, Tiffany “New York” Pollard, Ari Fletcher, Flo Milli and more. Each episode showcases Tokyo’s unique creative process, from the first stitch to the final transformative installation. Each wig comes with its own set of challenges, and Tokyo must balance deadlines, client demands and finding time for life outside of the salon.
“I’m super excited Wiggin’ Out With Tokyo Stylez is coming out soon,” shared Tokyo Stylez. “This is an unprecedented, all-access look into the life and operation of the Touched by Tokyo brand like you never seen before. I can’t wait for our supporters to finally see what it takes to be on top of the hair game because it’s not easy wearing my crown.”
“Tokyo Stylez’s dedication, discipline and natural born talent has made her one of the most sought-after hairstylists in the industry with an impressive roster of A-list clients,” said Brett Dismuke, Head of Content, We TV and ALLBLK. “Wiggin’ Out With Tokyo Stylez pulls back the curtain on her life as viewers continue to get to know Tokyo, the dynamic stylist, but also Tokyo, the person who is doing her best to manage it all and build her empire.”
