Sal Romanello Executive Vice President
General Counsel

As Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Sal Romanello serves as the chief legal counsel for AMC Networks Inc. including its targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA (which includes U.S. distribution and sales responsibilities for BBC News), IFC, SundanceTV and We TV; film distribution labels IFC Films and RLJE Films; AMC Studios, its in-house studio, production and distribution operation; and AMC Networks International.

Romanello is responsible for all company legal matters including securities, governance, corporate transactions, litigation, compliance, major rights and affiliation agreements, and strategic legal planning. Romanello also oversees AMC Networks’ human resources function, comprising benefits, compensation, talent acquisition, talent management and development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and facilities.

An accomplished executive with significant legal and business administration experience, Romanello previously served as General Counsel and SVP of Business Administration for the Memphis Grizzlies. Prior to joining the Grizzlies, Romanello was EVP and General Counsel for 605 LLC, the audience and data analytics company now a part of iSpot. Romanello began his career in the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, where he was a partner in the Complex Commercial Litigation Group and practiced for more than 20 years.

Romanello earned his Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University.
