"Today’s Emmy recognition underscores AMC’s drive to create premium quality television on basic cable. We thank the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences for once again recognizing the network’s original series.
"We congratulate all of the "Mad Men" nominees, including Matthew Weiner, Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss and John Slattery along with the talented production team and a spectacular cast of actors who continue to intrigue us with the world of Sterling Cooper.
"We applaud Vince Gilligan and his team on "Breaking Bad" for the well-deserved nominations, and Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul individually for their incredibly powerful performances this season. It is a joy watching them turn Mr. Chips into Scarface!
"Mad Men’s" first two seasons have been honored with a number of industry awards, including back-to-back Golden Globes® for Best Television Series – Drama (2007 and 2008), a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series (Jon Hamm), and a Peabody Award (2007), among numerous other accolades.
