BUDAPEST – 11 February 2019 – AMC Networks International – Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI CNE) and Deutsche Telekom’s subsidiaries in the Czech Republic and Slovakia today announce a multi-year, comprehensive renewal of their distribution agreement. The deal builds on the companies’ long-term partnership by providing carriage of AMCNI CNE’s full portfolio of fan-favorite networks to Slovak Telekom’s Magio and Digi Slovakia and T-Mobile TV Czech Republic customers.
The strategic agreement includes distribution of Sport 1, Sport 2, AMC, Film+, Minimax, Megamax, JimJam, Spektrum, Spektrum Home, TV Paprika, CBS Reality, The Outdoor Channel and Extreme Sports Channel. The multiplatform deal includes IPTV, DTH, cable and OTT carriage. Additionally, the companies will extend their cooperation to include joint marketing campaigns in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
“We’ve distinguished ourselves in the marketplace by consistently offering compelling, premium quality content, and this multifaceted partnership underscores the enduring high demand for that content from viewers, distributors and advertisers. As AMCNI continues to experience strong growth momentum across the globe, we’re pleased to continue to provide Deutsche Telekom Group and their customers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with our high-quality programming and popular brands that engage, entertain and build passionate fan communities,” said Balázs Hajós, VP of Affiliate Sales of AMC Networks International – Central and Northern Europe.
“Slovak Telekom’s Magio and Digi are the biggest TV providers in Slovakia, covering more than 620,000 households. T-Mobile TV in the Czech Republic is the fastest growing television service in the territory. This success is due not only to our exclusive sport, documentary, kids and music channels, but also thanks to our cooperation with experienced industry leader, AMCNI CNE. We appreciate its balanced portfolio of channels that cover all possible TV genres, including sports, kids, documentary, films and series. We are looking forward to further developing our business with AMCNI CNE,” said Andrej Miklánek, head of TV content at Slovak Telekom and T-Mobile.
