AMC Networks Promotes Two In Legal Department

Cliff Bail Named Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel

Aileen Brophy Named Senior Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs

New York, NY – March 19, 2014 – AMC Networks has promoted two New York-based executives in the company’s legal department. Cliff Bail has been named Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel and Aileen Brophy has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs. Bail was previously Senior Vice President, Corporate Legal and Brophy was previously Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs. Both will continue to report to Jamie Gallagher, Executive Vice President and General Counsel for AMC Networks.

Bail will continue to provide legal counsel across corporate transactions, executive compensation and benefits in addition to managing litigation matters and international business. Prior to joining AMC Networks, Bail was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Cablevision. He also served as General Counsel to PVI, was Vice President – Legal Affairs at Century Communications, and was a partner at Leavy Rosensweig & Hyman. Early in his career, Bail was an associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. He holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and earned a J.D. from New York University.

Brophy continues to be responsible for legal aspects surrounding national distribution for AMC Networks, including affiliation agreements for the licensing and distribution of content across multiple platforms. She joined AMC Networks in 2009. Previously, she was an associate in the New York office of Greenberg Traurig LLP, advising television programmers and broadcasters on distribution issues. Prior to law school, she began her television career as a freelancer in nonfiction production, working on projects for various networks including Sundance Channel, Lifetime and National Geographic Channel. Brophy holds a B.A. from Harvard College and earned her J.D. from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University.) She is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and Women in Cable Telecommunications.
