Calling All Aspiring Sports Reporters: Fox Sports Net Gives You a Chance to Join The Celtics Telecast Team

FSN Launches Boston Celtics FanCaster Program to Introduce Students to the World of Sports Reporting

BURLINGTON, MA – Fox Sports Net's Mike Gorman, Gary Tanguay and Greg Dickerson are three examples of successful New Englanders working as TV sports personalities. To inspire future sports reporters and teach them the ins and outs of the industry, Fox Sports Net (FSN) is launching its latest FanCaster program and will select students to participate in its Boston Celtics telecasts.

At every Boston Celtics home game, beginning on January 2, FSN will select one student to tape an on-camera introduction to that night's Celtics "Heroes Among Us". Every home game the Celtics honor a community hero on the parquet floor, and to introduce that hero to viewers at home, FSN will use the taped FanCaster intro during the New England Sports Tonight post game show with Gary Tanguay and Greg Dickerson.

FSN's FanCaster is open to students, age 13-18, interested in a career in the media. To enter, each student must video tape themselves reading an audition script and send it to FSN with an entry form. FanCasters will be selected based on their TV presence and the quality of the video.

"TV sports reporting is a popular career choice for students who are passionate about sports and because of that the industry is extremely competitive," said David Woodman, senior vice president and general manager of Fox Sports Net. "We are committed to educating our youngest viewers, and the Celtics FanCaster program will provide a true hands on look at sports reporting while supporting the Boston Celtics commitment to the community."

Students can find the entry form, the script and rules at www.FSNNewengland.com. The VHS only tape must be labeled with the student's name, age, school, home phone number and address, and sent it along with the entry form to:

Fox Sports Net FanCaster
42 Third Avenue
Burlington MA, 01803

Students without web access can also obtain information at 781-270-7280. All entries must be received by February 1, 2004.
