New York, NY – August 19, 2008 – Rainbow Media announced today the appointment of Christina Pisano to Vice President of Research for WE tv. Pisano was formerly Vice President of Research for NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, Oxygen and Bravo Media. In her new role at WE tv, Pisano is responsible for all areas of research for WE tv, including programming, sales, marketing and affiliates. Pisano reports to Charlene Weisler, Senior Vice President of Research for all Rainbow Media networks.
"Christina is an industry veteran with extensive experience at some of the top media companies, including AOL, MTV and CBS, and I am very pleased she has joined our research team. Christina’s successful track record and industry expertise will be a tremendously valuable addition to our team as we build on WE tv’s continued success," said Weisler.
Pisano began her career in 1990 as a media research analyst for Bates Incorporated, and in 1992 she joined CBS. She later spent three years at MTV Networks as manager of research and planning for VH1. In 2001 Christina joined AOL as director of market research for all AOL programming divisions. Most recently Christina oversaw research for Oxygen and Bravo as vice president of research, after having successfully transitioned Oxygen to NBCU.
Christina holds an undergraduate degree in business administration in marketing from Hofstra University and an MBA in communications and media management from Fordham University. She was previously President and is currently a member of the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC-New York), and has been the New York Chair for American Kidney Fund, CTAM and WICT.
