(CHICAGO) – FOX Sports Net’s 2000 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY telecast schedule features more than 40 games from the Big 12, PAC 10, Conference USA, Western Athletic Conference (WAC), along with local action featuring Northwestern, Iowa, Ohio State and Michigan State – plus, local coaches shows.
The COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY season begins on Saturday, August 26 at 1:00 PM with the Eddie Robinson Classic featuring top-ranked Kansas State facing the Big Ten’s Iowa Hawkeyes live from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Calling the action for the opening game are Ron Thulin (play-by-play) and James Lofton (analyst) with Eric Clemons reporting from the sidelines. The new COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY pre-game show kicks off the festivities at 12:30 PM.
Additional games of local interest on FOX Sports Net’s schedule this season include Ohio State at Arizona (September 9-9:15 PM), Northwestern at TCU (September 16-11:00 AM) and Michigan State at Missouri (September 16-6:00 PM).
“Our COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY schedule will showcase many of the top national, as well as local players in NCAA Division I competition,” said James J. Corno, FOX Sports Net Chicago’s Senior Vice President/General Manager. “From a local level, Big Ten teams will be featured, along with the very best in local coaches shows.”
Following the Eddie Robinson Classic, FSN stages a September 2 tripleheader starting with Mississippi State at Memphis at 2:30 PM. Last season’s surprise team, Louisiana Tech then takes on Kansas State at 6:00 PM. Concluding the evening is a PAC 10 battle featuring defending champion Stanford traveling north to take on Washington State at 9:15 PM.
FOX Sports Net anchor Kevin Frazier returns for his fourth season hosting all the action on FSN’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY including the new pre-game show. The pre-game show is telecast every Saturday throughout the season at 10:30 AM following the debut from the studio in Los Angeles.
Hall of Fame football star Kellen Winslow provides the analysis on COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY along with former FSN Big 12 analyst Artie Gigantino. In addition to the pre-game show, Frazier, Winslow and Gigantino are also seen on the Nissan Halftime Report during FSN’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY national games, providing highlights and updates. The halftime show, as well as “Game Breaks,” feature interviews, highlights and breaking news stories throughout the day on FOX Sports Net.
From a local perspective, FOX Sports Net viewers will be able to catch the inside, personal views, reviews and previews of some of the area’s most influential coaches. The following coaches’ shows will air regularly on FSN each week throughout the 2000 college football season:

Throughout the 2000 college football campaign, FSN viewers can tune in to Chicago Sports Tonight Monday through Friday at 7:00 PM or a half-hour before live events for the latest news and interviews following area teams. The 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT will provide a complete recap of all local college games every weekend. The NATIONAL SPORTS REPORT, with the most up-to-the-minute coverage of the national college scene, airs nightly at 10:00 PM and 12 midnight.
