Fox Sports Net’s 2002 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY telecast schedule features 36 big games from the Big 12, Pac 10 and local collegiate contests featuring Northern Illinois, Iowa State – plus, local coaches shows.
FSN’s college football season kicks off with the Eddie Robinson Classic featuring Iowa State vs. Florida St. on Saturday, August 24 at 7:30 PM from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Head coach Bobby Bowden and Florida State look to build on last year’s Gator Bowl victory over Virginia Tech as they battle the Cyclones. Joel Meyers, Kellen Winslow and Artie Gigantino are on hand to call the first FSN telecast of the 2002 season.
Fox Sports Net’s coverage begins before the players take the field as the network’s college football pre-game show hits the air every Saturday morning beginning August 31 at 7:30 AM. Renamed COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY KICKOFF, the show takes a look at all the day’s action and brings the latest news and information from the gridiron. This fall, Chris Rose hosts alongside Pro Football Hall of Famer Winslow, who will be inducted into the College Hall of Fame in December, and former coach Gigantino, to provide expert analysis on the games around the nation. During live game telecasts the trio provides halftime reports, highlights and updates to keep viewers informed on all their favorite teams.
The Northern Illinois Huskies will be featured in three telecasts, including their home season opener against Wake Forest on Thursday, August 29 at 6:30 PM. Following the NIU telecast, FSN stages a doubleheader starting with Kansas visiting Iowa State on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 11:30 AM. Last season’s Pac-10 champion Oregon headlines the second game as Mississippi State travels to Eugene to battle the Ducks at 11:15 PM.
Fox Sports Net viewers will also be able to catch the inside, personal views, reviews and previews of some of the area’s most influential coaches. The following weekly shows will air regularly on FSN during the 2002 college football season:
