BETHPAGE, NY, MAY 24, 2000 — Romance Classics presents the world premiere of the dramatic coming-of-age film, “Wildflowers,” on Saturday, July 29 at 8:00 p.m. (eastern). The film stars Daryl Hannah (who also serves as executive producer), Eric Roberts and Clea Duvall.
Cally (Clea Duvall) is a by-product of the 1960’s flower children of San Francisco. Raised by her mostly absent father, at the age of 17 she is faced with confronting the drama her parents created in their lives, including the disappearance of her mother shortly after Cally’s birth. When Sabine (Darryl Hannah), a beautiful free spirit, arrives in the community, Cally is enthralled by her mysterious nature. The two begin a close friendship while Cally’s father tries desperately to keep his daughter from entering adulthood. The more involved Cally becomes in Sabine’s life, the more she hungers for a special connection; slowly clues begin to appear and Cally begins to unravel the thread of mystery surrounding Sabine and her past. Cally realizes that the woman with whom she is so entranced may be her long lost mother.
“Wildflowers” features original tracks from contemporary performers including Blues Traveler, Jane’s Addiction, Santana and Big Brother & the Holding Company.
