NEW YORK, NY, January 18, 2011 – WE tv and Wedding Central announced today that Deirdre O’Hearn has joined the networks as vice president of Development and Talent, reporting to John Miller, senior vice president of Original Production and Development.
In conjunction with Miller, O’Hearn is responsible for developing new original series and specials for WE tv and Wedding Central as well as overseeing the strategic and creative direction of the networks’ programming. She is also responsible for finding new on-air talent for the two channels. O’Hearn is based in the networks’ New York City office.

Before joining WE tv and Wedding Central, O’Hearn served as vice president in charge of the New York office of non-fiction media producer Darlow Smithson Productions.
Prior to Darlow Smithson, O’Hearn spent 16 years at A&E Television Networks where, as vice president of Non-Fiction and Alternative Programming, she developed and launched the hit reality series, "Gene Simmons Family Jewels," now in its fifth season. Also at A&E, O’Hearn served as vice president and executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning "Biography" series and director of Programming for the Biography Channel. Before joining the Biography Channel, O’Hearn spent 10 years as a producer and senior producer of Programming for A&E Network and The History Channel, where she wrote and produced biographies on F. Scott Fitzgerald, Truman Capote, Sen. John McCain and Eva Peron.
O’Hearn has been honored with six Emmy nominations and five Golden Eagle Awards.
