(SUNRISE, FL) – Fox Sports Net Florida and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays announced today that Dewayne Staats and Joe Magrane will return to the broadcast booth as the announcing team for game telecasts on Fox Sports Net and the Devil Rays Television Network; both received contract extensions through the 2005 regular season.
“Fox Sports Net is delighted Dewayne and Joe will be together in our announcer booth through the next two Devil Rays’ baseball seasons,” said Jeff Genthner, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Fox Sports Net Florida. “As the Ray’s only television announcers since the team’s inception, Dewayne and Joe’s game call and on-air chemistry is the television identity of the Rays for fans watching on Fox Sports Net throughout Florida.”
Working together with Fox Sports Net and the Devil Rays since the inaugural season in 1998, Staats and Magrane have been the only television announcers in Ray’s history. Staats, a 30-year veteran of television and radio, anchors the Emmy-Award winning telecast team, calling games as the play-by-play announcer. Magrane, who played in the Major Leagues for eight years, returns to the club for a seventh season as the color analyst.
