MID-SEASON FINALE OF “FEAR THE WALKING DEAD” DELIVERS 6.7 MILLION VIEWERS, INCLUDING 4.2 MILLION ADULTS 25-54, IN LIVE+3 RATINGS
“PREACHER” PREMIERES WITH 3.8 MILLION VIEWERS, INCLUDING 2.2 MILLION ADULTS 25-54 IN LIVE+3 RATINGS
NEW YORK, NY, May 27, 2016 – Following the Sunday night premiere of “Preacher” and the mid-season finale of “Fear the Walking Dead” on AMC, the network is now home to five of the top 10 shows on cable TV and two of the top three cable premieres this television season.
The “Fear the Walking Dead” mid-season finale delivered 6.7 million viewers, including 4.2 million adults 25-54, while the “Preacher” premiere delivered 3.8 million viewers and 2.2 million adults 25-54, both in live+3 ratings.
“Mid-way through its second season, ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ has established itself as a top drama on cable, able to deliver live and near-live viewership at levels that are increasingly rare today. We are so proud of the creative team behind this show,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. “What has been achieved in front of and behind the camera with ‘Preacher,’ which arrives as one of the top cable premieres this season and looks like nothing else on television, is also astounding. As part of a two-week sampling strategy, the “Preacher” premiere is now available free on AMC.com, through AMC’s mobile app and on every other platform where viewers can find AMC programming. The premiere will encore in the show’s regular timeslot this Sunday at 9 p.m., followed by a special “Talking Preacher” at 10:30 p.m. hosted by Chris Hardwick with guests Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, executive producers who directed the pilot, executive producer and showrunner Sam Catlin and star Dominic Cooper.
“Preacher” returns with its second episode at 9 p.m. on June 5. “Fear the Walking Dead” will return to AMC for the premiere of the second half of this second season on Sunday, August 21.
