BOSTON, MA – Fox Sports Net New England announced this morning its 2001-02 HOCKEY EAST telecast schedule. This season's Hockey East television schedule results in a package of 15 games to be telecast throughout New England. Hockey East coverage will begin on Fox Sports Net on January 6th at 3pm when Northeastern visits Boston University. David Woodman, Senior Vice President/General Manager, Fox Sports Net New England made the announcement.
"Fox Sports Net's five-year relationship with Hockey East has brought our viewers some of the greatest rivalries in college hockey," said Woodman. "Hockey East has established itself as the premiere college hockey conference in the nation and Fox Sports Net is proud to offer our New England viewers such extensive coverage of the country's finest teams."
Fox Sports Net's 15 game college hockey schedule is highlighted by rivaled match-ups including Boston College at Boston University on January 22 at 3pm; a re-match of last season's Hockey East Championship game Providence at Boston College on January 27 at 3pm; and New Hampshire at Maine on February 2 at 7pm.
"Our fifth year on Fox Sports Net New England promises to be our best yet," said Hockey East Commissioner Joe Bertagna. "The competitive balance of the league has never been this tight and that can only mean quality games for our viewing audience."
