SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Fox Sports Net, the cable television home the of the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's, will once again deliver more Major League Baseball coverage than any other Bay Area television outlet. Fox Sports Net will offer viewers a comprehensive schedule of 90 Giants games (52 home, 36 away, 2 exhibition) and 60 A's contests (31 home, 27 away, 2 games in Tokyo, Japan). The announcement was made today by Jeff Krolik, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Fox Sports Net Bay Area.
Fox Sports Net kicks off the first of its 90 Giants telecasts on Saturday, March 1, in a rematch of last season's World Series, when the Giants meet the Anaheim Angels in preseason action. Fox Sports Net will present the NL Champion Giants opening their regular season on the road against the San Diego Padres on Monday, March 31 and the home opener against the Padres on Monday, April 7. Other schedule highlights include 11 games against division rival Los Angeles Dodgers (April 10, 12; June 17, 18, 23, 25; and September 20, 21, 26, 28) and four contests against Dusty Baker and the Chicago Cubs (April 29, 30; May 1; and July 30).
Fox Sports Net begins its 60 game schedule of the 2002 AL West Champion winning A's against the Seattle Mariners with a two-game set on Tuesday, March 25 and Wednesday, March 26 from Tokyo, Japan. Highlighting Fox Sports Net's A's telecast schedule are eight match-ups against the defending World Champion Angels (April 4, 13; July 6, 25, 27, 28; and September 9, 16) and four contests against Jason Giambi and the New York Yankees (May 3, 10, 11 and August 1).
Interleague play is back for a seventh season and Fox Sports Net will be the place to catch 14 of those battles, including three cross-bay match-ups on June 20 (Giants @ A's), June 22 (Giants @ A's), and June 29 (A's @ Giants).
