BOSTON – Fox Sports Net New England once again kicks off its college football national schedule with a live telecast of the Eddie Robinson Classic. Named after the winningest coach in college football history, the Eddie Robinson Classic features Virginia vs. Wisconsin on Saturday, August 25 at 2:00 PM ET from Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wis.
Fox Sports Net (FSN) telecasts over 25 college football games in 2001. The schedule includes 13 match-ups from the Pac-10 Conference including Boston College at Stanford in a primetime showdown, September 8 at 10pm. Additionally, FSN produces a syndicated broadcast schedule for the Atlantic-10 and Big 12 Conferences.
Marquee national matchups on FSN's national schedule this year include Arizona State at UCLA Sept. 15 at 10:00PM, Arizona against the Fiesta Bowl champion Oregon St. Beavers on Oct. 13 at 10:15 PM ET. Inner state rivalries conclude FSN's regular season schedule as Arizona takes on Arizona St. on Nov. 23 at 3:00 PM ET; and Oklahoma St. visits the defending National Champion Oklahoma Sooners on Nov. 24 at 1:00 PM ET.
Fox Sports Net also telecasts the second annual Silicon Valley Football Classic on Monday, Dec. 31 at 3:00 PM ET. The game is played in San Jose, California and features a top Western Athletic Conference team and a national at-large opponent.
The majority of the matchups are to be selected during the college football season on a six or 12 day advance notice. In addition to announcing the TBD games, the announcers for the national college football telecasts will be named closer to the start of the season.
