(SUNRISE, FL) – College basketball returns to Fox Sports Net Florida with a comprehensive schedule of more than 100 televised match ups throughout the 2002 – 2003 season. The extensive lineup features local action from University of South Florida and University of Miami in addition to a national schedule loaded with high-profile competition from the Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Conference USA, and Pac-10 conferences (complete schedule follows).
University of South Florida Bulls fans can once again tune in to Fox Sports Net Florida for eight men's games televised live and a selection of four women's match ups on tape delay. Coverage begins Tuesday, November 26 at 7:00pm when the men's team, led by seniors Reggie Kohn and Will McDonald, host the Providence Friars in Tampa.
Facing what could be the toughest schedule in team history, the South Florida women tip off the first of four games on Fox Sports Net Friday, January 3, 2003 at 7:00pm in a showdown with SEC powerhouse Georgia (delayed from 1/2/03).
Fox Sports Net Florida's coverage of University of Miami hoops opens Sunday, December 15th with the men's team traveling to Charlotte for a non-conference clash. Having been named to the pre-season All-Big East First Team, Junior Darius Rice led the team in scoring last year and hopes to steer the Hurricanes to another NCAA Tournament bid this season. Ten University of Miami men's basketball games on Fox Sports Net Florida will be televised live.
The Hurricanes women's team tips off the first of eight appearances on Fox Sports Net Florida with a live match up against Notre Dame on Saturday, January 11 at 12:00pm. Other key opponents for the University of Miami include Villanova (airs on FSN 2/1/03 at 4:00pm) and Women's NCAA Champion Connecticut (airs on FSN 2/19/03 at 10:00pm). Fox Sports Net will tape delay six University of Miami women's games, with two games airing live.
The remaining 72 games on Fox Sports Net Florida's NCAA basketball lineup feature hot match ups from the elite Pac-10, the Big East, Big Ten, and Big 12 conferences. Widely considered to be the No. 1 team in the country, Arizona is featured five times on the schedule, facing USC on Thursday, January 16 and UCLA on Thursday, February 13. Indiana and Oklahoma, two Final Four teams from last season, are also on Fox Sports Net's action-packed national schedule.
Tournament coverage on Fox Sports Net Florida includes comprehensive Conference USA action, exclusive quarterfinal and semifinal action from the Pac-10, two rounds of women's Pac-10 semifinals, Big East championship semifinals, and the women's Pac-10 and Big 12 championship games.
