(SUNRISE, FL) – College basketball returns to Fox Sports Net Florida with a comprehensive schedule of match ups throughout the 2003 – 2004 season. The extensive lineup features local action from University of South Florida and University of Miami in addition to a national schedule loaded with high-profile competition from the Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Conference USA, and Pac-10 conferences (complete schedule follows).
University of South Florida Bulls fans can once again tune in to Fox Sports Net Florida for nine men’s games televised live. Coverage begins Tuesday, December 2 at 7:30pm when the Bulls, led by senior Jimmy Baxter and new head coach Robert McCullum, travel to Providence to take on the Friars.
Fox Sports Net Florida’s coverage of University of Miami hoops opens on Sunday, December 14 at 4:00pm with the Cane’s hosting intrastate rival, the Florida State Seminoles. Ten University of Miami men’s basketball games will be televised live during the 2003-2004 season, including the defending NCAA champion Syracuse Orangemen on Saturday, February 14 at 2:00pm. Senior Darius Rice, preseason candidate for the John R. Wooden National Player of the Year Award, hopes to lead the Hurricanes to a sixth NCAA Tournament bid this season.
The Hurricanes women’s team will also appear on Fox Sports Net Florida with a live match up at home against Rutgers on Saturday, January 31 at 2:00pm.
The remaining 76 games on Fox Sports Net Florida’s NCAA basketball lineup feature match ups from the elite Pac-10, the Big East, Big Ten, and Big 12 conferences. University of Connecticut, widely considered to be the pre-season favorite, is featured three times on the schedule and Marquette, a Final Four contender from last season, also has three match ups on Fox Sports Net’s action-packed national schedule.
Tournament coverage on Fox Sports Net Florida includes comprehensive Conference USA action, exclusive quarterfinal and semifinal action from the Pac-10, two rounds of women’s Pac-10 semifinals, women’s Big East championship semifinals, and the women’s Pac-10 and Big 12 championship games.
