SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Former Oakland A's pitcher Ron Darling has been named the new pregame show co-host for Fox Sports Net's A's telecasts. The announcement was made today by Ted Griggs, Vice President of Programming and Operations, FSN Bay Area.
Darling will join A's announcer Glen Kuiper for 15 A's pregame shows this season. Each show will provide fans with commentary, features, and in-depth coverage of the game.
A veteran of 13 seasons (1983-1995), Darling pitched for the New York Mets, Montreal Expos, and A's. While playing for the Mets, he pitched in the 1985 All-Star Game and was a member of the 1986 World Series Championship team. Darling played the last five years of his career with the A's and has been a contributor to FSN's Best Damn Sports Show Period.

FSN begins its 75 game schedule of the 2003 AL West Champion A's against Texas Rangers in their home opener on Monday, April 5. FSN's A's telecast schedule are nine match-ups against division rivals Anaheim Angels (April 17, 23, 24; June 21, 23, 29, 30; September 25; and October 1) and seven with the Seattle Mariners (April 10, 11, 21; July 21, 27; and September 28, 29), five contests with the New York Yankees (April 28, 29; May 4, 5; and August 4), and three games against the Baltimore Orioles (August 23, 24, 25).
