Quotes:
Boxer Lennox Lewis on his decision to retire from boxing – "I'm just tired of people challenging me – you know you can only box one person at a time and eventually there's going to be that young guy that's going to be more hungry than you – that's going to take your title – so you have to know when to bow out. So I'm bowing out and basically allowing a new era of boxers to go forth in their dreams and aspirations to be heavyweight champion of the world."

NBA Commissioner David Stern on rookies LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony – "Yeah, I'm surprised that they are as good as they are – they are extraordinary young men and I love the attention they are getting because there is a great group of rookies that are being allowed to develop while these guys get all the attention."

Anecdote:
When asked about his favorite memory of any All-Star game in his 20 years of experience, David Stern replied: "In 1992 when Magic, who wasn't playing, was elected to the All-Star team. He then shoots the three and was the MVP. It was our own little miracle in a very different way – sort of, of life – that this young man was alive and able to play."
