CLEVELAND – Providing fans the best in regional sports television and the most comprehensive coverage of Columbus Blue Jackets hockey, Fox Sports Net Ohio today announced it will televise 65 games during the 2002-2003 season. Steve Liverani, Senior Vice President and General Manager, made the announcement.
Fox Sports Net will be there for the season opener at Nationwide Arena on Thursday, October 10 as the Blue Jackets face off against their Central Division rival Chicago Blackhawks at 7 pm.
Highlights of this season’s schedule on Fox Sports Net include five match-ups against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings, a New Year’s Eve battle against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the first-ever visit to Nationwide Arena by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, March 20.
“As the exclusive television home of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Fox Sports Net is anxious to welcome back the team as they begin their third NHL season,” said Liverani. “We will continue to provide unparalleled Blue Jackets coverage to our viewers throughout Ohio and our entire region.”
Dan Kelly (play-by-play), son of NHL broadcasting legend and Hockey Hall of Fame member Dan Kelly Sr., and Steve Konroyd (color), 15-year NHL defenseman, return this year to call their third season of Blue Jackets hockey on Fox Sports Net.
