Providing fans the best in regional sports television and the most comprehensive coverage of Xavier basketball, Fox Sports Net Ohio today announced it will televise 17 games during the 2002-03 regular season. Steve Liverani, Senior Vice President and General Manager, made the announcement.
Highlights of this year's line-up on Fox Sports Net include the December 3rd match up against Purdue, as Xavier looks to avenge a four-point loss to the Boilermakers last year in West Lafayette.
On January 4th, Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, David West and the Musketeers travel to Alabama to take on the SEC's Player of the Year, Erwin Dudley and rest of the Crimson Tide in a marquee non-conference game.
"Both in the Cincinnati area and nationally, Xavier basketball is synonymous with excellence," said Liverani. "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to expand our coverage of this high-profile program, and excited about the start of the upcoming season."
Fox Sports Net will also televise coverage of the A-10 tournament with Quarterfinal action on March 13, and Semifinals on March 14.
"This is great news for our basketball program and the entire University," said Xavier Associate Vice President and Athletic Director Mike Bobinski. "It is great to be associated with a network who has sports programming as their sole focus."
