(SUNRISE, FL) – Fox Sports Net Florida today announced the regional sports network has added the three game series between the Florida Marlins and Montreal Expos on September 5, 6 and 7 from San Juan, Puerto Rico to its television schedule. Fox Sports Net's television coverage of the Marlins vs. Expos series is scheduled as follows:
Saturday, September 6th: 7:00 PM
Sunday, September 7th: 1:00 PM
"The excitement surrounding the 2003 Florida Marlins has resulted in record television ratings and viewer enthusiasm," said Jeff Genthner, Fox Sports Net Florida's Senior Vice President and General Manager. "Fox Sports Net's commitment is to provide the very best in home team coverage. With the Marlins contending for a wild card play-off spot, adding this series is fulfilling our commitment to our viewers, cable affiliates, sponsors and the Marlins. We're especially grateful to television station Deportes 13 in San Juan for allowing us to provide its local Spanish language coverage of all three games to our Hispanic audience in South Florida, which can be accessed via the SAP button, available on most television sets, when watching the game on Fox Sports Net."
Fox Sports Net's coverage of the series will combine the local television video feed from Deportes 13 with the regional network's regular Marlins' announcing team of Len Kasper and Tommy Hutton. Fox Sports Net's Jim Holly will direct the telecast for both Fox Sports Net in Florida and Deportes 13 in Puerto Rico.
"The Marlins are thrilled that these potentially decisive games will be telecast on Fox Sports Net," said P.J. Loyello, Vice President, Communications and Broadcasting for the Marlins. "The momentum and fan enthusiasm for Marlins baseball has been explosive since the All-Star break. Making these games available for our fans to see on television was very important to the Marlins, and we are appreciative of the cooperative effort between Fox Sports Net, Major League Baseball and Deportes 13 in getting this done."
Fox Sports Net's coverage of the Marlins vs. Expos series in San Juan was made possible in large part through the support of the network's sponsors, including Bank of America, The Puerto Rico Tourism Board, South Florida Lexus Dealers, Maroone Auto Dealerships, Burdines, South Florida KFC and Hollywood Greyhound Track. The addition of the three game series against the Expos increases Fox Sports Net's regular season Marlins television coverage to 98 games.
