(SUNRISE, FL) – Fox Sports Net Florida today announced a 21-game college baseball telecast schedule for 2002 featuring 15 University of Miami Hurricanes games and six University of South Florida Bulls match ups (Complete schedule follows).
Fox Sports Net Florida’s NCAA baseball telecast schedule begins on Friday, February 1 at 7:00pm when the defending national champion University of Miami Hurricanes host 2001 College World Series opponent Tennessee at Mark Light Stadium. Coach Jim Morris and the team begin the season ranked number-two in national pre-season coaches polling, and Fox Sports Net will televise contests against three major Florida universities – University of Florida (Fri. 2/8 at 7:00pm, Sun. 2/10 at 1:00pm); University of South Florida (Sun. 3/10 at 1:00pm); and Florida State University (Sat. 4/13 at 10:00pm delayed and Sun. 4/14 at 10:00pm delayed); as well as match ups against Minnesota, Florida International University, Rutgers, UCLA, Long Beach State, Bethune Cookman, Jacksonville, and New York Tech. All games will air live on Fox Sports Net Florida unless otherwise noted.
Frank Forte will call play-by-play for Fox Sports Net’s University of Miami baseball telecasts. Joe Zagacki and Luis Hernandez will handle color analysis for the team.
The University of South Florida will swing into action on Fox Sports Net Friday, March 1 at 7:00pm as the Bulls host UMASS. Coach Eddie Cardieri, celebrating his 20th season at USF, leads the Bulls once again. In the 2001 season, USF appeared in its eighth NCAA regional tournament under Coach Cardieri’s direction, and he hopes the team will achieve new heights this year. Fox Sports Net will showcase six Bulls’ baseball games this season, including those against St. Louis (Sat. 3/16 at 1:00pm); Louisville (Fri. 3/29 at 7:00pm and Sun. 3/31 at 1:00pm); UNCC (Sun. 4/28 at 1:00pm); and Tulane (Sat. 5/11 at 1:00pm). All USF Bulls games will air live on Fox Sports Net.
Jim Louk will call play-by-play for Fox Sports Net’s USF Bulls baseball telecasts, while Todd Kalas will provide color analysis.
