SUNRISE, FL — May 2, 2001 — Fox Sports Net Florida today announced that cable household ratings for its Florida Marlins baseball coverage in April increased 89 percent over last year, according to ratings information for the West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce television market.
According to Nielsen Media Research, Fox Sports Net achieved an average cable household rating in West Palm Beach-Ft. Piece of 1.48 for the 14 Florida Marlins games aired in April — an 89 percent increase over ratings of 0.78 for 16 games aired during the same period last year.
“We are extremely pleased with the strength of our Marlins coverage and our April ratings,” said Jeff Genthner, General Manager, Fox Sports Net. “No other network can match our extensive coverage of the Marlins. Based on the ratings, fans in the West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce region and throughout the state are tuning in and are excited about the Marlins season.”
Fox Sports Net also increased its total viewership in the West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce area during April; its average prime time rating represented a five percent increase in prime time viewership over the same period last year. Fox Sports Net
