for Three-Day Music Festival in New Orleans
Fuse Teams with Event Creator Rehage Entertainment, Inc. to Launch
The Voodoo Radio Network
NEW YORK, NY, August 27, 2003 – Fuse, the nation's only all-music, viewer-influenced network, has secured a broad ranging sponsorship agreement with Rehage Entertainment, Inc., the producers of the 5th Annual Voodoo Music® Experience, one of the nation's largest musical events. The announcement was made here today by Fuse president, Marc Juris.
Held every Halloween in New Orleans' City Park, this year's October 31st – November 2nd affair will present a line-up of more than 80 of today's biggest artists, including 50 Cent, Marilyn Manson, POD, Queens of the Stone Age, The Donnas, Fuel, The Roots, Ludacris and Staind. With this agreement, Fuse will serve as the exclusive broadcaster for the festival – producing and airing a 90-minute special recapping the event and partnering with Rehage to create The Voodoo Radio Network, a syndicated radio feed that will bring the festival to listeners nationwide. This is the third consecutive year that Fuse has served as a sponsor for the Voodoo Music® Experience.
"In five short years, Voodoo has grown to be a true Halloween tradition, the greatest musical event of the fall season," states Fuse president Marc Juris. "Having expanded to three days, this year's line-up promises to be the best event yet, one that gives our viewers access to the biggest acts in every genre of music – hip-hop, rock, punk and more. Voodoo also provides us with multiple platforms from which to market the interactive, all-music message of our brand, at the concert site in New Orleans and on television and radio."
"Rehage Entertainment and the Voodoo Music Experience are thrilled to take our partnership with Fuse to another level," comments Stephen Rehage, President Rehage Entertainment, Inc. "Year after year, Fuse has been a key player in helping to expand Voodoo's world-wide profile. We are looking forward to the new and creative ways that they will be capturing this year's event including their 90-minute special as well as The Voodoo Radio Network."
Fuse will kick-off its broadcast partnership by officially unveiling the festival's roster of acts beginning this week on IMX: Interactive Music Xchange, during the live daily telecast. The network will continue to promote the festival and ticket sales via a comprehensive slate of on-air spots and a customized, content-rich Voodoo Music® Festival mini-website at fuse.tv.
The Fuse VJs will also be on hand in New Orleans to cover the action as it unfolds. As a main stage sponsor, Fuse will be prominently featured in this key venue and throughout the festival site. Performances and behind-the-scene interviews taped at the event will be included in a 90-minute 2003 Voodoo Music Experience Special slated to premiere in early December 2003.
As a part of this new deal, Fuse is also partnering with Rehage Entertainment, Inc. to create The Voodoo Radio Network. Fuse VJ and resident heavy metal mistress Juliya will serve as the official voice of the radio network, which will syndicate daily one-minute preview packages to radio stations across the nation throughout October. Juliya will also host live feeds from the actual event in New Orleans, including backstage interviews and performances, which will be syndicated to participating radio stations throughout the three-day event.
Launched in 1999, the Voodoo Music® Experience has attracted more than 250,000 attendees in just four years. The list of artists who have performed at past events include Eminem, Tool, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliot, No Doubt, 311, Garbage, Ben Harper and Macy Gray.
