Audiences will get a rare opportunity to probe the mind of celebrated director Oliver Stone in the latest installment of The Independent Film Channel’s (IFC) Independent Focus, premiering exclusively on IFC Monday, January 15 at 8:30PM/PT.
The Oscar-winning director of Born on the Fourth of July and Platoon discusses his impressive resume and lengthy career. In addition to directing
such memorable films as Wall Street, Salvadorand the controversial Natural Born Killers, Stone has also taken a turn at semi-biographical films such as JFK, Nixon and The Doors. His most recent work can be seen in Any Given Sunday, starringAl Pacino and Cameron Diaz.
Independent Focus is an IFC original series produced and presented in cooperation with Independent Feature Project/West. In these insightful one-on-one interviews, the industry’s biggest and brightest join host Elvis Mitchell (film authoritarian and critic for The New York Times) in front of a live audience for an in-depth look at
the art of filmmaking and a discussion about their latest and greatest works. Previous guests have included acclaimed directors Jim Jarmusch (Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai), John Waters (Pecker), Steven Soderbergh(The Limey), John Sayles (Limbo), Wes Anderson (Rushmore), David Lynch (Lost Highway), Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia) and Richard Linklater (Newton Boys).
